Cube Chat Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 20, 2026

1. Information We Collect

Cube Chat collects information needed to provide accounts, authentication, chat functionality, server connections, and push notifications.

1.1 Cube Chat Account Information

When you create a Cube Chat account, we may collect:

Your Cube Chat account password is the password you create when signing up for a Cube Chat account. It is used to authenticate your Cube Chat account and to allow you to log in and manage your account.

1.2 Server Connection Password

Cube Chat also allows users to connect to chat servers using a separate server password.

The server password is different from your Cube Chat account password.

The server password is used to authenticate your connection to a particular Cube Chat server. It is provided to the server when you attempt to establish a connection.

The server password is not intended to be your Cube Chat account password.

Cube Chat may transmit the server password to the server you are attempting to connect to so that the server can verify it.

You should not use the same password for your Cube Chat account and a server unless you intentionally choose to do so.

1.3 IP Address and Technical Information

When you use Cube Chat, our servers, hosting infrastructure, or related services may receive or log your IP address.

We may use IP addresses and related technical information for purposes including:

1.4 Push Notification Information

Cube Chat uses OneSignal to provide push notifications on our website and Android application.

When OneSignal's services are used, OneSignal may automatically process certain information associated with a user's browser or device.

According to OneSignal's published privacy information, its web and mobile SDKs may collect information including:

OneSignal states that precise location is not automatically collected by its SDK and requires the app developer to enable location collection and, where applicable, obtain the necessary device permission.

Cube Chat does not state that it collects precise location through OneSignal unless Cube Chat separately enables such functionality.

The exact information processed by OneSignal may depend on the platform, device, browser, OneSignal configuration, and features enabled by Cube Chat.

2. How We Use Your Information

We may use information collected through Cube Chat to:

We do not sell your personal information.

3. OneSignal Push Notifications

Cube Chat uses OneSignal to provide push notifications for both:

Push notifications may be used to notify users about Cube Chat activity, including new chat messages.

OneSignal's services may process technical and device-related information necessary to provide push notifications. OneSignal's published privacy policy describes information collected through its web and mobile SDKs, including IP addresses, device identifiers, operating-system information, network information, language, time zone, and information related to app or website use.

You can disable push notifications through your browser or Android device settings where those controls are available.

Disabling push notifications may prevent Cube Chat from sending notifications to your device or browser.

However, disabling notifications does not necessarily delete information that OneSignal may already have associated with your device, browser, or notification subscription.

4. Information Processed by OneSignal

OneSignal is a third-party service provider used by Cube Chat to provide push notifications.

Some information processed by OneSignal is collected automatically by the OneSignal SDK when it operates on the Cube Chat website or Android application.

OneSignal's published privacy policy states that its mobile and web SDKs can process information such as IP addresses, identifiers, device or browser information, operating-system information, network information, language, time zone, and notification-related information.

Cube Chat uses this information for the purpose of providing push notifications and related notification functionality.

Cube Chat does not intentionally send your Cube Chat account password to OneSignal for push-notification purposes.

Your Cube Chat account password and the server passwords described in this Privacy Policy are separate from the technical information collected by OneSignal.

5. OneSignal Data Deletion

Cube Chat currently provides an account deletion function for information stored in our own Cube Chat database.

However, Cube Chat currently does not have a direct mechanism that allows us to manually delete every piece of information that OneSignal may have collected or retained through its web or Android services.

Therefore, deleting your Cube Chat account from our database does not necessarily mean that all information previously processed by OneSignal is immediately deleted from OneSignal's systems.

OneSignal has its own privacy practices and procedures for handling personal-information requests.

If you have a privacy question or request concerning Cube Chat's use of OneSignal, you can contact us at:

cubechat@proton.me

We will review your request and take reasonable steps available to us.

6. Account Deletion

Cube Chat provides an account deletion function.

When you delete your Cube Chat account, we will delete the account information stored in our Cube Chat database, subject to information that we may be required or permitted to retain under applicable law.

Deleting your Cube Chat account may remove information such as your Cube Chat username and account credentials from our database.

However, account deletion from our database does not necessarily delete information already processed by third-party services such as OneSignal.

Information held independently by third-party service providers may be subject to their own retention and deletion procedures.

For questions about deleting your Cube Chat information, contact:

cubechat@proton.me

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including:

When information is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to delete, destroy, or anonymize it where appropriate.

Third-party services such as OneSignal may have their own retention periods and procedures.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, loss, or modification.

However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for keeping your Cube Chat account password and any server passwords you use confidential.

You should avoid using the same password for multiple services.

9. Password Security

Your Cube Chat account password is used to authenticate your Cube Chat account.

Cube Chat should use appropriate password-security practices, including securely hashing account passwords rather than storing them in readable/plaintext form.

Server passwords are separate credentials used for connecting to individual chat servers.

If you operate a Cube Chat server, you should also protect your server password and avoid sharing it publicly.

10. Users Under 13

Cube Chat is intended for users 13 years of age and older.

Cube Chat does not knowingly intend to allow children under 13 to create accounts.

If you believe that a person under 13 has created an account or provided personal information to Cube Chat, please contact:

cubechat@proton.me

We will review the situation and take reasonable steps to address the information where appropriate.

11. Your Privacy Rights in Canada

These rights may include:

To make a privacy request, contact:

We may need sufficient information to verify your identity before responding to certain requests.

Your rights may vary depending on the applicable Canadian privacy legislation and the circumstances of the request.

12. Consent

Where consent is required by applicable law, Cube Chat will seek appropriate consent for the collection, use, or disclosure of personal information.

You may withdraw consent where applicable.

However, withdrawing consent may affect our ability to provide certain Cube Chat features.

For example, disabling push-notification permissions may prevent Cube Chat from sending push notifications.

13. Third-Party Services

Cube Chat currently uses OneSignal as a third-party service for push notifications on the Cube Chat website and Android application.

Third-party services may process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.

You can view OneSignal's privacy policy here:

14. International Processing

Some third-party service providers used by Cube Chat may process or store information outside Canada.

Where personal information is processed or stored outside Canada, it may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction where the information is processed or stored.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy.

If significant changes are made, we may provide additional notice where appropriate.
